Runway raises $8.5M Series A

We started Runway almost two years ago with a mission to build the next generation of creative tools, powered by machine learning. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve raised an $8.5M Series A led by Sarah Catanzaro and Sunil Dhaliwal from Amplify Partners with participation from Zavain Dar at Lux Capital and Michael Dempsey at Compound Ventures.

The teams at Amplify, Lux, and Compound have been fundamental to the growth of Runway. From its inception at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, we’ve been both proud and thankful to work with talented people who believe in our vision of transforming the future of creative production. Our early advisors Dan Shiffman and Gene Kogan have also been instrumental, as they taught us to listen and adapt to the needs of the creative community.

As we enter this new chapter, we’re looking to grow our team to continuebuilding magical media tools.
