Today we're introducing Runway Agent: an agentic creative partner that takes you from idea to finished, ready-to-publish video in a single conversation. Simply describe what you need, and the agent proposes a concept, develops story beats and lays out a full visual direction, shaped around your context, your goals and your creative instincts. Then it builds the video: multiple scenes, voiceover, dialogue and music, all assembled and ready to publish.
What you can make
Runway Agent is built for the volume and variety of video that brand teams, marketers, creative agencies and filmmakers need to produce: product launches, brand campaigns, social content, short films and more.
Brand campaigns: Seasonal content, awareness spots, campaign assets. Develop the concept through conversation, lock the direction and generate multiple variations without starting over.
Social and always-on content: The cadence of social content doesn't fit traditional production timelines. Runway Agent makes it possible to produce high-quality, on-brand video fast enough to actually keep up, for a fraction of the cost.
Film and television: For independent filmmakers, Runway Agent compresses the distance between initial concept and final cut. You can turn a rough idea into a fully realized scene or short piece through conversation, without requiring a crew or a budget to match the vision. For production teams, it's a fast lane for previs and concept development: get a visual direction in front of collaborators and stakeholders before committing to a shoot.
Product content: New products, new menus, new seasons. Describe what you're bringing to market, upload reference images and the agent builds a finished video around it.
How it works
We've built Runway Agent with speed, quality, control and accessibility in mind. Instead of review cycles that take days or weeks, the agent produces high-resolution, multi-shot video in minutes. Start by describing what you want to make. Upload reference images to ground the visual direction, choose an aspect ratio and duration and configure your audio preferences. The agent proposes a concept and story structure. Refine it through conversation until the direction is right. Then the agent generates the full video, and the timeline editor is yours to make final adjustments. Describe what you need in plain language, react to what the agent proposes and steer from there.
Runway Agent is for anyone who needs to produce finished video without a production team behind them: brand marketers, performance marketers, creative directors at agencies, social and content leads, comms teams at companies that run lean and filmmakers working at any scale. If you've been skipping video because it's too slow, too expensive or too complicated, this is what changes that.
What's next
We're intentionally starting with multi-shot video, but the near-term roadmap goes far beyond that. We believe this conversational approach—an agent that understands your goals, builds toward them and hands control back to you at every step—is the foundation for a new kind of creative workflow entirely.
We're building a true creative partner: one where you set the direction and agents handle the execution, pulling from your brand context, working across models and producing at a scale and speed that changes what's possible. We're working to quickly bring in more complex workflows and more of the production process, with the ultimate goal of expanding everyone's creative ambition. We're just getting started.
