OpenAI is reportedly leaning toward delaying its IPO until next year - instead of this year.

The company had hired bankers and lawyers for a possible public offering as soon as Q3 or Q4 this year.

Sam Altman reportedly pushed advisers to find a path to a $1 trillion valuation.

According to the NYT， advisers have warned OpenAI that retail investors may not have the same appetite after SpaceX's volatile post-IPO trading and a broader pullback in tech stocks.

The numbers are interesting：

• it says it is now making $2B per month
• it hopes to roughly triple revenue this year
