A Chinese optical testing equipment maker just reported 800-900% profit growth for H1 2026. Lianxun Instrument makes testing equipment for high-speed optical modules, the components that move data inside AI data centers at speeds of 400G, 800G, and now 1.6T. As AI infrastructure buildout accelerates globally, demand for optical modules has surged, and so has demand for the specialized instruments needed to test them. Lianxun is only the second company globally to ship full test instrument coverage for 1.6T optical modules, the next-generation standard for AI data center interconnects that is currently entering early commercialization. The first is Keysight, the US instrumentation giant where Lianxun's founder Hu Haiyang previously worked as an executive. The company holds the top market share in China's optoelectronic device testing equipment market, and ranks third overall in optical communications testing, the only domestic player in the top five. The numbers back up the momentum. H1 2026 net profit is expected to come in 800-900% above the same period last year. Q1 revenue was up 142% year-on-year with a 66.76% gross margin. Orders on hand exceed 3 billion yuan, more than the entire 2025 revenue of 11.94 billion yuan. AI data centers need faster optical connections, faster optical connections need better testing equipment, and Lianxun is one of very few companies globally that can provide it.
