But the more interesting is how much pressure OpenAI is facing despite that scale.

According to The Information：

- ChatGPT is approaching 1 billion weekly users less than four years after launch
- the milestone is arriving seven months later than OpenAI originally targeted
- growth slowed following the troubled GPT-5 launch and increasing competition from Gemini and Claude
- more than 50 million people now pay for ChatGPT， equivalent to roughly 5% of its weekly user base （same as before）
