Robbyant， the embodied AI unit of Ant Group， has started raising external funding， seeking around ¥1.5 billion （$210 million） in its first financing round， according to local media reports.
Founded in late 2024， Robbyant is developing a general-purpose "robot brain" and embodied AI technologies. The company recently launched its second-generation LingBot foundation models， including tools for visual perception， spatial understanding and robot decision-making.
The fundraising comes as Ant Group accelerates AI-related restructuring. Other units， including Ant International， OceanBase and Ant Digital Technologies， are also exploring external financing or IPO plans as the group opens more businesses to outside capital.
