SpaceX just confirmed that Terafab is moving ahead in Grimes County, Texas.
The confirmation came during a face-to-face meeting with residents and local officials at the Grimes County Commissioners Court in Anderson, Texas. SpaceX representatives said civil work will begin almost immediately, with construction potentially starting within months.
Terafab was the final missing piece of the puzzle, and now it is officially happening.
A massive chip factory that will combine logic, memory and advanced packaging under one roof, giving Tesla and SpaceX the chips needed to scale their biggest ambitions.
• Planned size: 100 million square feet • Target output: 1 terawatt per year • Chips for Tesla FSD and Optimus • Chips for SpaceX's future space systems • AI compute on Earth and in orbit • Long-term vision: orbital compute and lunar mass drivers
Terafab will become the manufacturing backbone for the future of AI, robotics, autonomous vehicles and space. 🚀
