Interesting: Meta appears to be significantly expanding its own web index for Meta AI.
Development of AI will also more and more depend on who controls the infrastructure around them: real-time information, retrieval, distribution and user context.
Meta already has distribution across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Adding its own map of the open web would make Meta AI far less dependent on external search providers and potentially much more useful for current information. Its probably a strategic challenge to Google Search.
