Alibaba Cloud says it can now build large AI data centres in 100 days while cutting construction costs by about 10%.

That is far shorter than the 6 to 12 months typically reported for comparable projects in China and 12 to 18 months in the US.

The company attributes the shorter schedule to CUBE 5.0, its modular data-centre design, and it comes from moving much of the power, cooling, security and other infrastructure work into factories where modules can be produced simultaneously.
