Manus says it will return to operating as an independent company. As part of the transition, some user data created on or after Dec. 29, 2025 - the day Meta announced its acquisition of Manus - will be deleted on Aug. 23-24. Future data will be stored in the U.S. and Singapore.
Manus says new features will again push the limits of general AI agents. But without the backing of a major foundation-model provider, whether it can deliver on that ambition remains an open question.
