China is testing a new form of AI financing: “Token loans.” Banks, including Bank of China, are allowing companies to use AI contract values or Token consumption as a basis for credit assessments. Some pilot loans have reached up to $3.9 million.
Unlike traditional lending, these loans do not rely solely on physical assets or revenue records. Instead, AI usage costs are becoming a new financial metric, signaling China’s attempt to build an asset valuation system around Tokens.
