Zhipu AI has launched the API for its new foundation model GLM-5.3. The model focuses on complex coding, cybersecurity defense and long-horizon tasks, scoring 60 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index and entering the global frontier model tier. GLM-5.3 is positioned alongside closed models such as Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 and OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Sol, while tying with Moonshot AI’s Kimi K3 as a leading open-source model. It is already integrated into Zhipu’s ZCode and GLM Coding Plan, with model weights scheduled to open-source next week.
