Notion (@notionhq) co-founder Akshay Kothari (@akothari) believes the future of work will be built around humans and AI agents working side by side.
Peter and I spoke with Akshay about Notion’s evolution from a notes app into an agent-first workspace — and why the next phase of software may be defined by millions of small, shareable agents rather than one system trying to do everything.
One fascinating example is Notion’s internal people-ops agent, “Smilers.” It answers employee questions using the company’s knowledge, creates a ticket when information is missing, and adds the eventual answer back into the system.
The result is something close to a self-healing company memory that becomes more useful over time.
