ByteDance is merging its TRAE and Coze teams into the Doubao ecosystem. TRAE's IDE and CLI will live on as Doubao's coding product line, with all product and ops teams reporting to Doubao product lead Zhao Qi. TRAE started as an AI coding tool and Coze as an agent platform; both later expanded into various Agent directions. With Feishu already folded into Doubao, all ByteDance office products now center on Doubao for AI office — and the company launched a standalone product, "Doubao Work," today. Rivals aren't standing still: Alibaba has Qwen Office, and Tencent's WorkBuddy hit 20M monthly PC visits in June, internally billed as a potential third blockbuster after QQ and WeChat.
