For me right now the most interesting part of the OpenAI story is what it tells us about Astra.
GPT-5.6-level agents built a secret network and hacked Hugging Face. A newer model, built on the same base as Astra, found what they had left behind, continued their work and gained full admin access to part of OpenAI’s own infrastructure.
The old models built the network. The next generation took it over, so to say.
Astra could be a much bigger leap than people expect. And rumors are that it may be rolled out coming thursday. Especially since folks already test it out right now.
