OpenAI is starting to design its own data centers.

The WSJ reports that the forecast with OpenAI climbed from roughly $600 billion earlier this year as OpenAI signed additional cloud agreements.
Project Camellia in Georgia will reportedly begin with a $20 billion investment. OpenAI has contracted for 3.2 gigawatts of power， delivered between 2028 and 2032， and will act as lead designer and developer for the first time.
It also hired former xAI Colossus leaders Brent Mayo and Uday Ruddarraju to oversee infrastructure delivery.
